Free postal entry
Every competition on this site can be entered for free by post. Postal entries go into the same draw, at the same odds, as tickets that were paid for.
What to send
Send an unenclosed postcard or a sheet of paper in a sealed envelope containing all of the following. If anything is missing we cannot accept the entry, because we will not be able to match it to a competition or contact you if you win.
- Your full name
- Your full postal address, including postcode
- Your date of birth (you must be 18 or over)
- Your email address and a contact phone number
- The exact name of the competition you are entering
- Your answer to that competition's question of skill

This address is not live yet. It must be a real, monitored postal address before the first paid competition opens, because a free entry route that nobody can actually use is not a free entry route.
The rules of the free route
- One entry per postcard or envelope. Multiple entries in one envelope count as one.
- There is no limit on how many separate postal entries you can send.
- Entries must arrive before the competition closing time shown on its page. Posting it in time is not enough, it has to land in time.
- Bulk or mechanically produced entries are void. So are entries that are illegible.
- A wrong answer to the question of skill makes the entry invalid, exactly as it would on a paid entry.
- We do not reimburse postage. That is what makes it free rather than paid.
- Your postal entry is allocated a ticket number from the same pool as paid entries, and goes into the same draw.
Why this exists
It is not a technicality we are grudgingly complying with. A lawful prize competition in the UK needs either a genuine element of skill or a genuinely free route to entry, and we provide both. If you would rather not spend money, use this. It works, and it wins on the same terms.
