What happens if the competition does not sell out?

Who can enter?: Anyone aged 18 or over who is resident in the United Kingdom. We ask for your date of birth at checkout and we will verify age before releasing any prize. Employees of AutoBarn Comps and their immediate families cannot enter.
Is this gambling?: No. These are prize competitions, which are lawful in the UK without a gambling licence because winning requires correctly answering a question of skill and because a free postal entry route is available on equal terms. They are exempt from the Gambling Act 2005 and are not regulated by the Gambling Commission. That also means the protections that come with a licensed operator do not apply here, so read the terms.
Do I really have to get the question right?: Yes. A wrong answer makes the entry invalid and we refund the ticket price. We do not quietly let it through, because if we did the competition would arguably be a lottery.
Is there a limit on tickets?: Every competition has a per-person cap, shown on its page. It exists so one person cannot buy out a draw.
Can I choose my own numbers?: Not at the moment. Numbers are allocated at random from the pool of unsold tickets when your payment clears. Since every number has an identical chance, this changes nothing about your odds.

How is the winner picked?: A random number is generated between 1 and the total ticket count, filmed from the moment the range is set. The video is published on the winners page.
What happens if the competition does not sell out?: The draw goes ahead on the published date and unsold ticket numbers stay in the draw. If an unsold number comes out, the advertised prize is not awarded and instead a cash prize is drawn among the ticket holders. This is unusual to state so bluntly, but it is how the maths has to work if we are not going to cancel draws.
Can a draw be cancelled?: Only if something makes it impossible or unlawful to run. If a competition is cancelled, every entrant is refunded in full. We will not cancel simply because sales were slower than we wanted.
When will I know?: The result is published on the winners page as soon as the draw is filmed, and the winner is called and emailed on the same day.

Can I take cash instead?: Where a cash alternative is listed on the competition page, yes, and the choice is entirely yours. We will not push you either way.
Is delivery included?: Vehicles are delivered free to any address in mainland UK. For the Scottish islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands we will arrange delivery and agree the cost with you, or you can collect.
What about tax, insurance and running costs?: Prizes are given with 12 months road tax where stated. Insurance is yours to arrange and yours to pay for, and it is worth checking a quote before you enter a competition for something fast. UK prize winnings are not normally subject to income tax, but we are not tax advisers and your circumstances are yours.
Do I have to appear in a photo or video?: No. We will ask, because it helps people trust that the prizes are real, but you can decline and still take the prize. If you decline we publish the first name, county and winning number only.

Can I get a refund?: Entries are non-refundable once the draw has taken place. Before that, contact us and we will consider it. We refund in full where an entry was invalid because the question was answered wrongly, where a competition is cancelled, or where we have made a mistake.
How do you handle my card details?: We never see them. Payment goes through Stripe, and card data does not touch our servers.
I have spent more than I meant to.: Then please stop, and read playing responsibly. We will close your account and block you from entering if you ask us to. There is no cooling-off argument and no retention offer, we will just do it.
